Volunteering with KIBSD makes an enormous impact on our students’ success. Members of the Kodiak Island community help our students in the classroom, on field trips, and in after-school sports. If you would like to get involved, please reach out to individual schools for in-classroom/field trip opportunities.
Steps to Become a Volunteer
1. Email firstname.lastname@example.org that you are interested in becoming a volunteer and let them know which volunteer opportunity you’re interested in.
2. Check your email for a message from Sterling Volunteers (TheAdvocates@sterlingvolunteers.com) and follow the steps in the email. If you don’t receive the email within 3 business days, please contact email@example.com
3. You will receive an email once your background check is complete, with instructions to visit a school site, complete a volunteer agreement form and present your ID to the secretary.
4. Start volunteering!
For student activities volunteers (outside of the school day) additional steps will be required.
