The Human Resources Department is dedicated to recruiting, hiring and retaining the most highly qualified faculty and staff to provide an exceptional education for all students. The department maintains a list of employment opportunities and provides online applications for Administrative, Certificated, and Classified positions. Applicants are encouraged to monitor the employment vacancy list which is updated as positions become available.
The Kodiak Island Borough School District Human Resources Department is located in the Central Services Building at 722 Mill Bay Rd. Kodiak, AK 99615 and is open from 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. If you are applying for FMLA/AFLA for your own qualifying medical condition, you will need to complete pages 6,7 and 8, and return them to HR.
If you are applying for FMLA/AFLA to care for a Family Member with a qualifying medical condition, you will need to complete pages 9 and 10, and returned them to HR.

All Leave without Pay must be requested in writing and approved by Kim Saunders, Assistant Superintendent via email.
Certificated: Per KBEA 530, IX: Requests for use of the Bank Days must be in writing and accompanied by a letter from the attending physician. The request must be filed with the Association President (Sarah Powers) and the building administrator.
Classified: Per KIESA 515, XIII: Requests for use of Bank Days will be forwarded by the employee to the KIESA President (Michelle Pennington) and Superintendent and must be accompanied by a letter from the attending physician.
