Next week, the KHS Shakesbears will present their final production of the season: Kodachrome by Adam Symkowicz.

This beautiful, romantic play will be brought to life by 20 of Kodiak’s best young talent, on the stage and behind the scenes this April.

Kodachrome is about a photographer, played by Scout DeVries, who goes around her small town, taking pictures and marking the moments of different couples at different stages of their relationships, from the awkward proposal to the grief following loss. It speaks to the power of photography to capture these moments, both the good and the hurtful ones, as a way to mark time and memory. At its core, though, the play is about the importance of being seen–by others and by yourself.

Kodachrome is a play for the whole family and features some really moving performances by Alaska’s greatest young actors. You don’t want to miss this show that will move you to laughs and maybe a couple of tears. Run-time is about 75 minutes.

The play is directed by Jared Griffin, and this is his eighth production with the KHS Shakesbears. The Shakesbears are the 5-time reigning Alaska state champions in Drama, and currently ranked #1 in the state.

Actors and crew are available for interviews during rehearsals the week of April 15th: Monday through Wednesday, from 3:30-5:30.

Thanks, and hope to see you there!
