Prom season is fast approaching. Please don’t forget that any students with unserved detentions OR any unexcused absences the day before Prom will not be allowed to attend. Remember: any unexcused absence may lead to a detention. If you are unsure of any detentions (new or old) you may need to serve, please check with the main office before time runs out. Be sure to check frequently as the list is updated daily. Detentions may be served in Room A106 from 12:30 – 1 pm daily.


Come to the Tread Bear! Dress clothes (dresses and pants) will be available during lunch every day from today through Friday April 12 for Juniors and Seniors that are attending Prom.


Career Expo 2024: Onward and Upward is an opportunity for all KHS Juniors and Seniors to explore career opportunities! On Day 1, April 11th, which is THIS THURSDAY, you will have the chance to meet representatives from The CG Fire Department, Air Station Kodiak, Welders from Highmark Marine who work on fishing vessels, and even underwater diving welders!, from KANA, Providence, Midtown Automotive, crew from USCG Cutter CYPRESS, foreman for Brechan Construction, Kodiak Veterinary Clinic, Alaska Airlines and MORE! Day 2, on Tuesday April 23rd, we head out to see some of the Job Sites for you to get a better understanding. Since this event is considered a field trip, you must pre-register. Lunch is provided each day. Scan any QR code on the Career Expo flyers to register. Don’t miss this fun opportunity to investigate career possibilities!


Reminder! Students who are running for Student Council Executive Board make sure you have your speeches into Mrs. Glenn or Ms. Bender by THIS WEDNESDAY @ 4:00pm! If your speech is not turned in you will not have the opportunity to address the student body!


Class of 2024 please be sure to check your Outlook school email for a senior update and RSVP link for the senior banquet. Let Ms. Fuerst know if you have questions.


Looking for a job? Need help with identifying and/or transitioning into a career? Do you have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or 504 Plan? Alaska Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) may be able to help. DVR presentation will be today (4/9) at lunch in B126. Interested teachers and staff are invited to attend as well! Bring your lunch dessert will be provided.

Next week you will be taking the state assessment for your grade level. 9th gra Next week you will be taking the state assessment for your grade level. 9th graders will be testing in the gym on Monday 4/15 & Tuesday 4/16. On both days testing will begin at 8:30. So, go straight to the gym with your charged iPad. Get a good night’s sleep and do your best. 10th graders will be taking the Science Assessment on Wednesday 4/17 at 8:30 in the KHS gym. Check your school email for more information. No OPEN GYM during lunch on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday next week.


Kodiak High School, its Spirit Week!! Dress up to show your spirit and get spirit points for your class! Last semester the ,ighty Juniors won, let’s see if they will be unseated this semester. SPRING COLORS TUESDAY- Wear spring colors, pastels, and floral prints; WESTERN WEDNESDSAY- Cow, cowgirl, cowboy, pioneer, frontier outfits welcome; COLLEGE/ CARRER THURSDAY- Sport post-graduation plans, college merch, prospective career attire; DRESS FOR PROM FRIDAY- Wear the color of your Prom outfit, formal wear or casino cosplay, of course make sure it is all school appropriate 😊.
