Main Cubs Military Connections
Main Elementary is a close-knit 4-5 learning community in Kodiak, Alaska. We proudly serve a diverse population of students and families and are committed to creating a school environment where every child feels seen, supported, and at home. Our goal is to make transitions smooth, build strong relationships, and ensure that all families—no matter where their journey takes them—feel welcomed into our community.
Demographics
- Main Elementary currently serves approximately 201 students
- Approximately 3% of our student population is designated as military-connected
- Our military-connected families are primarily affiliated with the U.S. Coast Guard
- We serve students from active duty, reserve, and civilian military families.
- Military-connected students at Main primarily come from Coast Guard families, and we may also serve families affiliated with the Navy.
- Our school team is committed to supporting the unique needs of military-connected students, including providing smooth transitions and a strong sense of belonging.

- We work closely with our Community PTA to facilitate family events after school.
