Arbiter Athlete Registration
Kodiak Island Borough School District uses Arbiter Athlete Registration for Sports, which replaces the paper-based forms used in the past. Arbiter Athlete is compliant with international privacy laws, including HIPPA and COPPA, ensuring your child’s information is secure. All athletes wishing to participate in high school sports must complete the online registration process prior to practicing with the team.
Please visit Arbiter Athlete to get started. Both parent/guardian and student will need to create an account, link those accounts together, and then fill out all necessary forms online.
Please contact Athletic Director Debbie Roher if you have any questions about this process.
Living on an island has a dramatic impact on the costs of running our extra-curricular programs and activities. Students participating in Kodiak Middle School extra- curricular activities are required to pay an activities fee to help with the costs associated with that sport or activity. The activity fee has been set by the Board at $25 per student, per activity. Should a family need to request a waiver of the activity fee due to economic hardship, please contact the Activities Director. Activity fees are collected by the KMS office prior to the start of each season
We encourage all parents of athletes to become Booster Club members. Our active participation, both financially and with volunteer assistance, greatly helps to support activities that ensure a strong, well-run program for all of our Kodiak Bears!
All Booster Club members will receive free admission to home games with the exception of football because KFL runs that gate, and all Booster Club Members are eligible to receive the KHS airfare rate to all KHS activities that are held off-island, including football.

I was hired in 2015 as the Activities Director for KIBSD. I was born and raised in Kodiak and I am alumni of KHS. I played basketball and softball through out my 4 years of high school. I went on to play softball in college. In January of 2001, I came back to Kodiak to help coach basketball and softball at the high school. I continued to coach softball for the high school for 8 years.
In 2015, I got my dream job of being an Athletic Director. I love sports and love kids, so this is the perfect job for me. My goal as the Activities Director is to build a relationship with the students involved in not only sports but all the activities that we offer. I have an open-door policy and encourage all students and parents to come to my office to talk. I want students to feel comfortable talking to me whether it is about their future plans, everyday life, or how I can help them make good choices. I want to see our students become successful in everything they do.
I consider it an honor and a privilege to be a part of our community and your students’ life.
