KMS students from Mr. Adams’ Discovering Kodiak class teamed up with Island Trails Network for a marine debris clean-up project. Over the course of 2 weeks, teams of students combed the beaches of Kodiak collecting everything from plastic bottles to old toothbrushes.
Starting on Monday, October 2, Kodiak High, Middle, and Rural Schools’ students will once again be graded on the familiar 0-100 scale and receive A-F grades instead of the current four-point scale. This change will apply to all class work, homework, projects, quizzes, and tests.
What a great season for the KMS Boys and Girls Cross Country teams! On Wednesday, September 20th, they competed in the Wasilla Cross Country Borough Invitational where all athletes set personal records and the girls placed 3rd overall.
Through shared responsibility with the community, KMS will create a safe, healthy, collaborative learning environment that addresses the academic, social, and emotional needs of early adolescents through high expectations, a variety of course offerings, and cultural sensitivity. Students are empowered to acquire knowledge and skills necessary to become lifelong learners and productive members of society.
