Counseling & Student Services

The Kodiak Island Borough School District Counseling Program, in cooperation with our diverse island community, includes school counselors, school psychologists, and a professional partnership with Providence Kodiak Island Counseling Center. Involvement in this program provides students the opportunity to strengthen their emotional well-being and to reach their full potential as responsible, productive citizens.

At Peterson Elementary, Ms. Breanna is our School Counselor. She joined our team in 2018. A Peterson Puffin alumni herself, Ms. Breanna was born and raised in Kodiak. She graduated with her Masters in School Counseling in 2010, from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

Ms. Breanna is available during regular school hours Monday – Friday, 7:50am – 3:20pm, to support students, families and staff with academic, career, and social/emotional concerns. Students, families and staff are able to contact Ms. Breanna for issues including but not limited to the following:
