In Spring 2019, the Kodiak Island Borough School District conducted a survey of students who graduated between the years of 2014-2018. The purpose of the survey is to gain insight into the employment and continuing education status of KIBSD graduates. The results of the survey will be used to enhance the quality of the academic experience for future students.
Key Findings from the 2019 Post Graduate Survey
For the 2019 Post Graduate Survey, 672 students were contacted, 100 participated in the survey, representing 15% of students who graduated between the years of 2014-2018. Responses indicated that:
54% of graduates went on to pursue post-secondary education
53% of graduates report being full-time students
35% of graduates attributed success during high school to teacher support
53% indicated a need for more personal finance/life skill classes during high school
