Congratulations SkillsUSA Award Winners!

Several of our Kodiak High School students competed at the Alaska SkillsUSA Conference in Anchorage on March 28-30 and earned top awards. The following students earned first place gold medals and qualify for the 2019 SkillsUSA National Conference in Louisville, Kentucky this summer: Kat Jordan for Welding Sculpture; and Simon Corriere for Cabinet Making.

 

A second place silver medal was awarded to Max Pyles for Architectural Drafting.  Third place bronze medals were awarded to Janny Eng for Architectural Drafting; TJ Oatman for Automotive Technology; and Natalia Schneider for Architectural Drafting.

 

Additionally, each student competed in the Job Interview competition were Kat Jordan and Khyler Kane placed in the top ten out of 96.  In a Professional Development test, Max Pyles, Janny Eng, and Katie Parnell all received Gold Level scores.
