Important Message from Superintendent Dr. LeDoux and Principal St.Clair

January 25, 2019

Dear Parents,

The District has been made aware of a recent incident involving a First Student school bus driver who provided transportation for students at Peterson Elementary. The reported incident involved unacceptable comments to a student on a bus. The District believes this is an isolated incident involving only one student. The District does not have any reason to believe that this school bus driver engaged in similar conduct with any other student or that the conduct involved any other schools in the District. The driver is no longer employed by First Student. First Student removed the driver from the bus immediately following the report of the incident, and the driver has not provided any transportation services to students since the complaint was first brought to First Student's attention. I want you to know that the District and First Student have zero tolerance for any behavior of this nature.

If you are aware of or concerned about any inappropriate bus driver comments or conduct toward your child, please contact the Alaska State Troopers, First Student, or your school principal as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Michelle St. Clair, Principal

Peterson Elementary

Larry LeDoux
