Principal's Message Regarding Positive COVID-19 Case
Today, we were notified of a positive case of COVID-19 at North Star. As a result, our school building will be closed for deep cleaning for at least 24 hours. There will be no normally scheduled bus service, so please come to North Star to pick up your child after 12:00 today. For safety reasons, only people listed as emergency contacts in PowerSchool will be permitted to pick up your child. We will use only the main exit door, so please drive up the driveway in front of school or park in the parking lot. We will be as speedy as possible in delivering your child to you safely and calmly.
While your child will not be attending school in person tomorrow, she or he WILL still be expected to attend school remotely. Your child’s teacher will share the expectations for remote learning with you. The students in the impacted classroom will be quarantined at home for 14 days, as specified by Public Health.
We understand that this is a stressful time for everyone, and we ask for your patience and understanding as we consider the health and safety of all members of our school community. Out of an abundance of caution, we advise you to monitor your own health and that of your family, follow the CDC guidelines, and contact your primary care physician if you develop any COVID-19-related symptoms. We are being vigilant about working with local and state health officials to investigate all reported or suspected cases of COVID-19 in our school community.
