Normal School Day on February 17th
All students in the district will have a regular school day on Monday, February 17th, NOT a day off from school for teacher Inservice. This change was made due to the snow day on January 29th. The inservice day for our staff has been postponed to a Saturday in the beginning of April.
February 20th from 5:30-7:00 PM
Please join us in the library. It’s a great group of people, and you’ll be a voice that helps support our school! Childcare provided by the Girl Scouts. Free pizza and salad for kids and adults. This spring, the North Star PTA will be looking to fill a slate of officers to the PTA board. Please consider being a part of this group. Nominations will be open soon.
The Jungle Book Kids!
Once again, this spring, every North Star student will have the opportunity to be part of an incredible school-wide production, Disney’s The Jungle Book Kids! Once again, it is driven by our Music teacher, Jeannie Pedersen-Smith’s, vision of the many benefits a production like this has for elementary students. The cast of lead characters was auditioned and announced last week, and the music room is beginning to bubble with anticipation and that enchanting music and catchy tunes.
Put these dates on your calendar!
April 14 - Open dress rehearsal at North Star (all welcome)
April 15 - Workshop performance at the auditorium (all welcome)
April 15 - Evening Performance at the auditorium (open to the public)
Each grade level is featured in their own song and dance number:

1st – Wolf pups, featured in “Jungle Prologue”
2nd – Elephants, featured in “Colonel Hathi’s March”.
3rd – Jungle birds or snakes, featured in “That’s What Friends Are For”

Every year at about this time, our district’s schools ask families to help each of us improve. This year, the School Climate and Connectedness Survey is ready for your input! It was posted on our website last week, and will remain open until March 20.
We’d appreciate knowing what we’re doing well, as well as what we need to do better. Thank you!
