Letter to KMS Students from Superintendent LeDoux

March 27, 2020

Hello,

Welcome back. We hoped you enjoyed your time off. School is starting back up but, as you are well aware, it is going to look a little different now. The transition to online learning is not going to be easy or perfect, but with your help we will make it as smooth as possible.

Your teachers and everyone at the School District have been working hard the last couple weeks to get you everything you need to finish the school year on a positive note. I ask you to give your best effort and make the most of this unique situation. Stay in touch with your teachers, give feedback when possible, especially if something works well. It will be tricky, but not impossible. Talk about your schoolwork with your family, friends and classmates. The more we help each other right now, the better off we will all be.

Do your best to stay active, physically and mentally. I know it’s tempting to play video games or sit on the couch. But take this time to challenge yourself. Find ways to challenge your friends. Who can read the most books? What are some fitness options you can share with each other? This is a great time to try a new art project. Ask your teachers for suggestions. They would be more than happy to give you some ideas. As the weather warms up, take advantage of outdoor activities.

While it is important to keep up to date on your studies while you are learning from home, we also want to make sure everybody comes back healthy and strong. Take time to care for yourself, but also your family and your friends. Stay in touch, and keep each other’s spirits up. Don’t forget the value of laughter and smiles. This is a challenging time, but we will get through it and be even stronger if we work together.

Stay positive.

Sincerely,

Larry LeDoux
Superintendent
