AP Exam Payment: The deadline for submitting payment to take an AP exam is Friday, March 8th. Each AP Exam costs $94. Please see Ms. Wagner in the counseling office with any questions or concerns.

 

Air Force Recruiter at KHS 2/11: A recruiter from the United States Air Force will be here on Monday, February 11th at lunch in the counseling office. Students interested in careers in the military are encouraged to stop by to ask questions.

 

Spring ASVAB April 3rd: The Spring ASVAB test will be offered Wednesday, April 3rd at 8:30 am. The ASVAB a test used for military entrance. It is also a test that gives insight into student career areas. Sign up in the counseling office for this free test.

 

Singing Valentines: Kodiak High School Choir is selling Singing Valentines at the cascading stairs during lunch today. Buy one for your honey boo or your best friend - you decide! For $5 you can choose one of 25 songs. The song list is posted around school and also available at the sales table. Your singing valentines will be delivered Wednesday, Feb 13th. See a choir student for more information.

 

Prom: Prom is scheduled for Saturday, April 20th from 7:30 - 11:00 PM at the Afognak Building.

 

Re-Enrollment 2019/2020: Enrollment for the 2019-2020 school year is now open. Parents can go to www.kibsd.org to register.

 

FEMA Camp: Students who will be entering grades 8-12 in the fall of 2019 are invited to participate in FEMA’s Youth Preparedness Camp in Stanwood, Washington this August. During the 6-day, 5-night camp, students will learn to “safely assist in the immediate aftermath of a disaster when a professional response may be delayed or limited.” They will also have an opportunity to develop a project to use their newly-learned skills to help their communities when they get back home. Up to forty students from Region X states—Alaska, Washington, Idaho, and Oregon – will be chosen to participate. FEMA will pay for all travel, lodging, and food and will arrange students’ travel. Homework Club: Students, do you need a quiet space to study? Do you need extra support for any of your classes? Homework Club offers a daily time to study in the library after school Monday-Thursday 3:30-4:30 and Fridays 2:30-3:30.
