Annual Dance Concert: Attention students! The annual dance concert is coming up fast! Ms. Nugent is looking for volunteers to help as backstage technical crew and guest dancers. We are looking for: swing or waltz dancers, a stage manager, a greenroom manager, sound operator, spotlight operators, curtain pullers, costumes, and more! If you would like to help out, please let Ms. Nugent know ASAP.


PSAT: Results are in the Counseling Office. If you have not collected your PSAT book and score sheet, please swing by the counseling office.


Thursday Scholarship and Application Workshop Resumes: The Counseling Department will be opening their conference room every Thursday during lunch for a quiet, supportive place to work on Scholarships, College Applications and/or any Post-Secondary assistance. Take advantage of this time to seek help from Mr. Fox and/or Ms. Riedel.


KEA Scholarship Open: The KEA scholarship Application is now open. Please make sure you take the time to put together a STRONG application. We will have a sign-up document in the counseling office for you to request an official transcript. These requests will be ready beginning January 23rd. All complete application documents must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on February 15, 2019 at the KEA office at 1614 Mill Bay Road, Kodiak, Alaska, 99615. Incomplete applications will not be considered.


February ACT: The registration deadline for the February 9th ACT is January 11, 2019. After this, there is only one more ACT available for the school year! If you qualify for free or reduced lunch, please see Mr. Fox or Ms. Riedel to ask for a fee waiver.


Final SAT of the School Year March 9: The registration deadline for the March 9 SAT is February 8, 2019. If you qualify for free or reduced lunch, please see Ms. Riedel or Mr. Fox to discuss receiving a fee waiver.


RAHI- Rural Alaska Honors Institute Attention all Juniors! The application period for the summer Rural Alaska Honors Institute (RAHI) at University of Alaska Fairbanks is now open. Students accepted into the program will spend 6 weeks at UAF from May 28th-July 12th and have the opportunity to earn 8-11 college credits. This summer program is a great opportunity to see what college-level courses are like. See Mr. Fox for information about how to apply.


AP Exam Payment: The deadline for submitting payment to take an AP exam is Friday, March 8th. Each AP Exam costs $94. Please see Ms. Wagner in the counseling office with any questions or concerns.


Art Club: Art club will be meeting this Friday at lunch in Room A101 to plan our first fundraiser with the Travel Club.


HOSA: HOSA meets on Mondays during lunch. Bring your lunch and join the HOSA meeting on Monday, January 14th in Mrs. Finley’s classroom B107. A reminder to the members planning to attend the state conference; your registration fee is due to Nurse Christy on Monday, January 14th.


Travel Club: Meeting on Friday, January 11 at lunch in Mrs. Stewart’s room. Please come to sign up for a shift for our pizza night fundraiser!
