Crew Members Needed: Kodiak High School Choir HOLLYWOOD 2020 Pop Show is looking for crew members to work March 3rd through 5th. This is a fun opportunity to gain experience working stage productions. Students on the crew must be academically eligible to participate. Please pick up the information and schedule page from the choir room or see Mrs. Beck any day this week after school for more details.

Scholarships for Seniors Seniors: If you like free money for your education after high school, check out the KHS Counseling website for up to date scholarship information. MANY LOCAL or ALASKA scholarships are now available to apply for including the Kodiak Scholarship Foundation, Kodiak Electric Association, Kodiak Pioneers, Rotary, and others. You will need a copy of your transcript and recommendation letters for most of these scholarships. Stop by the counseling office to request scholarship information or to request a copy of your transcript.

Snow Day Make-Up: All town schools will be in session on Monday, February 17, 2020. Students and teachers will report to school on Monday, February 17 for a regular day of school.

Candy-Grams: National Honor Society will be selling Candy-grams for Valentine's day! Send your sweetie some sweets! Ring Pops will be $0.50 each and bag of chocolate kisses will be $1.00. All Candy-grams will be delivered on Friday, Feb. 14.

March SAT Registration: The final SAT of the school year is March 14th. The deadline to register for the test is February 14th. Please go online to to register. If you qualify for free or reduced lunch you may qualify for a SAT Fee Waiver. See Mr. Fox or Ms. Riedel to collect your waiver.

FCCLA is Hosting Lunchtime Activities: The Last 20 minutes of Lunch every day at the Cascading Stairs Monday – Mummy Wrap. Winning Team Wins Prize; Tuesday – Cupcake Walk / 25 cents per attempt; Wednesday – Class Saran Wrap Game (Gift Card to Winner); Thursday – Kahoot / Guess What Country. Winner Gets a Gift Card; Friday – Human Knot / Icebreaker games for crowds. Winners Get Prizes; (Please read the activity for today and the following day).

Snack Shop: The snack shop will be open this week. We will have brownies available as well as nachos and giant cookies. The first 25 customers will also receive a coupon for $1 off at Thread Bear, exceptions will apply.

RAHI application open for Juniors and Seniors: The Rural Alaska Honor's Institute (RAHI) is a competitive program that gives rural and Alaska Native students a chance to find out what it's like to be a college student. For six sweet summer weeks, students live in dorms on UAF's Troth Yeddha' campus, take 8-11 college credits, explore interior Alaska through a variety of outdoor activities, and volunteer in the Fairbanks community. The best part, aside from getting college credits and gaining lifelong friends from across the state, is that the entire experience is completely FREE. Apply at Application Deadline is March 1st!

Senator Murkowski United States Senate Internship Program: Alaska State Senator Lisa Murkowski is now accepting applications for summer intern positions in Washington, D.C. Applications for the 14 available intern positions from the state are due March 16, 2020. Information can be found at

Rootbeer Floats: Want to spoil your sweetheart this valentine’s day? Rootbeer floats will be available for purchase at lunch on Friday this week for $3 each or 2 for $5. Purchase a root beer float to support the Junior class as they fundraise to put on PROM! Cheers!
