Seniors Serving Seniors: November 22nd The annual Seniors Serving Seniors event is going to be Friday, November 22nd. Volunteers from the Class of 2020 will be serving lunch at the Kodiak Seniors Center, and also donating over 40 pumpkin pies. If you would like to donate homemade or store bought pumpkin pies for the event or to volunteer to serve lunch that day, please stop by the counseling office to sign up. Pies should be delivered to the Counseling office on November 21st-22nd and should be in a disposable container.

CNA Class: Meeting for students who are interested in the Certified Nurse Aide class for 2nd semester: Thursday, November 21 during lunch Room B107

YANA: YANA club is official for this year again! YANA stands for You Are Not Alone. YANA’s mission will be promoting kindness and inclusivity in our school along with providing suicide prevention training for our students and staff. If you are interested in helping create a more positive and inclusive school environment or you participated in the QPR training last year, please join us for this organizational meeting! Meet Ms. Wagner in Rm 106 - Mrs. Gandel’s room – at lunch on Friday Nov 22nd. We will have PIZZA but grab a lunch first if you need.

Wrestling: Attention Students: We will be holding our first home wrestling event in 2 years this weekend. You are invited to attend duels on Friday night and the Robin Hervey Wrestling Tournament on Saturday in the KHS gym. Come support your wrestlers as they take on visiting teams from Grace Christian, Houston, South Anchorage, and Valdez. This will be the only home matches this year, so you won’t want to miss it!! GO BEARS!

Wrestling Taco Dinner: The KHS Wrestlers will be holding a Fundraiser Taco Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 23 in the KHS Commons. Tickets are $15 each and are available from wrestlers. Dinner includes 2 beef tacos, rice, beans, and dessert. There will also be a silent decadent dessert auction at the event. Thank you for supporting our KHS Wrestlers!

MORP: The MORP Dance will take place this Saturday, Nov. 23 from 8:30-11pm in the Main Elementary Gym. Cost is $7 for singles, $12 for couples and $5 for Robin Hervey participants showing their tournament pass. Remember to wear white or neon colors as this will be a black light party! Bring a few extra dollars as we will have a snack shack open for refreshments too!

Drama Auditions: Auditions for the Drama Club's production of "The Tragedy of Orpheus", written and directed by senior Wetherleigh Griffin, will take place this Friday, Nov. 22, after school in the Auditorium Drama Pod.

Shakesbears: For anyone still interested in competing with the Shakesbears drama team, we are practicing this week on Tuesday and Thursday after school in the Auditorium Choral Pod. There's still time to join the team!

Drama Club: Drama Club meeting this Wednesday, the 20th, in Mr. Fish's room at lunchtime.

Super Smash Bros Tournament! There will be a Super Smash Bros Tournament to help raise money for Hiromi. November 25th and 26th at lunch (Monday and Tuesday next week). Pay $15 per entry and win! The first 16 people to sign up will be in the tournament. Sign up in room 225 in Mrs. Glenn’s room. Come have some fun and support Hiromi! ❤

Travel Club: Travel Club meeting Friday at lunch in Mrs. Jackson’s room.

FAFSA: The Free Application for Federal Student Aid, also known as the FAFSA, is now available. Assistance will be available to help you and your family complete the FAFSA form and answer your questions one-on-one at the workshops during the month of November and December every Friday from 9:00 am to11:00 am and 2:00 to 4:00 pm, at Kodiak College in the Computer Lab. For any questions on what documents to bring, please call Nancy Castro at 486-1214. Assistance in Spanish. The FAFSA application doesn't have a particular deadline, but scholarships and college applications may do. Alaska deadline is February 15, 2020, for the Universities of Alaska and June 1, 2020, for Alaska Performance Scholarship. Apply as soon as possible to be considered for additional aid programs with the same application.
