PSAT Wednesday, October 16th Registration: Attention all sophomores and juniors, the ONLY offering of the PSAT this school year will be Wednesday, October 16th at 8:30am. Students may sign up now in the counseling office. The fee for the test is $20. There may be fee waivers for eligible junior students only. There are a limited number of seats available for the test so register in the counseling office soon. Please see your grade level counselor with questions.

ASVAB Wednesday, November 13th: The first ASVAB test of the year will be given to interested juniors and seniors on Wednesday, November 13th at 8:30am. The ASVAB test is used for military service entrance. The test also provides information on various career areas. Students considering military service after high school are encouraged to take this test. Sign up in the KHS counseling office.

United States Senate Youth Program: The United States Senate Youth program application period is now open. Eligible students are juniors or seniors who have been elected as a student officer for the entire 2019-20 academic year. Eligible positions include class or executive board student council officers, National Honors Society officers, or student representatives elected to local, district or regional positions. Completed applications are due to the KHS Counseling office by 2:30pm on Friday, October 25th. Kodiak High School will select one eligible student from all applicants to recommend for the Program. See Ms. Riedel of Mr. Fox with questions or to pick up an application.

Senior Sweatshirt Designs: Designs for the Senior Class of 2020 sweatshirt are now being accepted. Please submit your design for the sweatshirt to Mr. Fox no later than Friday, October 18th. The senior class will vote on the designs during Advisory after designs are submitted. Designs may be hand drawn or digitally developed. See Mr. Fox with questions. The winning design gets a free Class of 2020 sweatshirt.

Inservice Week: There will be no school on Monday and Tuesday next week 10/14 and 10/15 due to Inservice. The rest of that week, we will be on a Monday, Monday, Friday schedule. We will have copies of that schedule available on the front counter if you'd like to pick one up.

Scholarship Workshop: Writing Winning Scholarship Essays workshop will be October 17, 2019, at Kodiak College Campus Center, Room 126 from 5:30 to 6:30 pm All workshops are FREE and OPEN to students and the community. Attend each event for a chance to win a $250 Academic Award towards Kodiak College courses. For questions, please contact Nancy Castro or Student Services at 486-1266.

Travel Club: Travel Club meeting this Friday at lunch in Mrs. Jackson’s room A306. Please come to pick up your raffle tickets to sell!

P&C Referee Clinic: If you are interested in participating in a Referee Clinic through Parks & Rec, there are informational flyers available on the front counter of the Main Office. The clinic will be on Saturday, November 9th from 1:30-3:30pm in the KMS gym.

Kodiak College: Drop by the Kodiak College Outreach Office (Room B236) today during advisory period to meet Kodiak College's admissions advisor! Ask your college questions or answer a trivia question and have a snack. Call 486-1266 for more information!

Prom 2020: Attention Juniors! It’s time to start planning Prom 2020!! We need your help! Prom Committee will be meeting on Thursdays at lunch in Mr. Finley’s room (D111). Come help put on an epic Prom!!

Applied Science Club: Do you have an idea for a Science or Engineering project but don’t have the manpower, time, or materials? Applied Science Club gives you the opportunity to make your idea a reality. ASC meets in Room D118 on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 5:00.

Wrestlers: Reminder Wrestlers, please remember to pay your activities fee and update your information on your ArbiterAthlete Profile. Also, there will be a Parent Meeting held this Thursday, October 10th at 6:15 in the commons. Please remind your parents and plan on attending. Thank you.
