Since the Snack Shop produces items for sale, students also learn about safe food handling and storage, PPE and kitchen safety.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thread Bear <\/strong>An introduction to the world of retail sales, Thread Bear resale shop provides students with the opportunity to learn about clothing care, pricing, customer services and making items visually appealing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Young Sprouts <\/strong>Hydroponics are the farms of the future, so why not start learning about them now. Our students learn about seed germination, the need for light, fertilizer, and proper ph levels, appropriate growing mediums and mass production of leafy greens (for use with in our school).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>ON THE JOB TRAINING<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>KIBSD works in partnership with DVR\u2019s Pre-employment program to offer students paid real life work experience during their school day.\u00a0 These positions are flexible and can be scheduled around required classes.\u00a0 Job experience sites can be community-based or located within any of the school district buildings.\u00a0 Students are expected to follow the same guidelines as a regular employee but have KHS staff supervising and training as needed.\u00a0\u00a0 If a student wants a community based work site, they are encouraged to make the connection with the employer on their own, complete a job application and interview.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>ASSESSMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>*Enderle-Severson Transition Rating Scale- Form S<\/p>\n<p>* Assessments imbedded into existing curriculum<\/p>\n<p>*A variety of other informal transition rating scales are used based on the area of focus (Employment, Independent Living, Daily Living Skills, etc)<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_toggle][et_pb_toggle title=&#8221;OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL&#8221;
