KHS Hockey starts October 12. Interested students should have a current physical, and sign up on www.planeths.com. There is a mandatory player/parent meeting on October 5th, 7 pm on the KHS Cascading stairs.

US Coast Guard Base Tour and College Fair Field Trip October 13th There will be a base tour and college fair held at the Coast Guard Base on October 13th. There will be over 10 representatives from different colleges, and an opportunity to tour several areas of the Coast Guard Base. There will be tours from 10am-12pm, or 12:30-2:30pm. Interested students should pick up a class release form and permission from the KHS Main office, or contact their grade level counselor with questions about the event. Space is limited due to transportation, so sign up soon!

USCG Representative Oct 6th A representative from the United States Coast Guard will be at KHS on Thursday October 6th outside the counseling area during lunch. Students interested in potential careers in the United States Coast Guard are encouraged to stop by.

Magic the Gathering Magic the Gathering, bring your cards for newbie games on Tuesday, October 4th and Wednesday, October 5th and then we will go to Emerald Game House Thursday after school. Be sure to join in our game days to prepare for our Halloween Week Tournament.

Yearbook THE YEARBOOK STAFF will be available this week to take orders for the 2023 yearbook. Find us on the first floor every day this week at lunch and ask about our special early bird pricing available for a limited time. Also, teachers, clubs or other activity groups, please reach out to Mr. Bennett or any Yearbook staff if you plan to do something cool that we can take photos of for the yearbook.

Late Passes Attention students: Please remember to check in at the office when you are late to school or coming back late from lunch. Thank you!

AFN Conference Any high school IEA student interested in attending the AFN elders and youth conference, please pick up and application at the high school front office or find one sent via school email. Applications are due by Thursday, October 6th at 12 by email or turned into the office. If you have any questions, please contact Meagan Mickelson at mmickelson01@kibsd.org.

PTSO Meeting There’s a Parent Teacher STUDENT Organization meeting on Thursday, October 6, at 6:30 in Mrs. Fuerst’s Room – A119. This is open to all KHS parents, teachers, and students. They want to hear what you want at KHS.

Dance Camp Attention students! The KHS Dance Team will be holding a 2 day dance camp with a guest instructor from the Thunderbird Dance Camp Oct. 14-15. The camp is open to students grades 6-12 and no previous dance experience is necessary. Come have fun working on new skills and choreography. We will be learning at least 3 different routines in jazz, hip hop, and pom. The cost is only $30 per person for 9 hours worth of instruction. That is a steal of a deal. Dance Team Auditions Attention Students: Did you miss out on auditioning for the KHS Dance Team at the beginning of the school year? It’s not too late! We will be holding a second audition on Tuesday, Oct. 18 from 3:45-5:15pm in the KHS Dance Studio. We are looking to grow our team and work together toward our goal of traveling to Florida this winter break to perform at the ReliaQuest College Bowl game. Please reach out to coach Nugent for an application and or more information.

Esports Esports practice is taking place in room D111 from 3:45-5:00 on Thursday hosted by guest coach Mr. White. Come down and play some games and build a team. That’s Esports Thursday from 3:45-5:00 in room D111.

PTSO The PTSO will meet Thursday, October 6th at 6:30pm in room 119A. We want to welcome students and teachers to join parents in meeting about activities and events supported by the PTSO.

Prom Committee Attention Juniors: The next Prom Committee Meeting will be held on Friday, Oct. 7 during lunch in room B107. We will be discussing fundraising and assigning leadership roles. Bring a friend and your ideas.
