Key Club Do you love helping others? Do you want to help our school recycle? Join Key Club. Our first meeting of the school year will be Sept 16 (Thursday) at lunch in the Learning Café Room F104.

Dance Team Your Kodiak High School Dance Team will be holding open studio days on Wednesday 9/15 and Friday 9/17 in the KHS Dance Studio (D122) from 3:45-5:10pm. Come check out what a practice is like, meet new people, learn fun combinations, and work on your skills for our upcoming tryouts. Signed waivers are required. Hey KHS! Homecoming will be Saturday October 2nd! We are hoping to have an in-person dance this year at Main Elementary. The dance will be from 9-11pm and masks reasonable distancing is required. Let’s make Homecoming rocking this year! Submit your songs to the “HOCO Kodiak 2021”. Check out the marker boards to make sure you get the playlist correct. Remember, clean songs will get played.

Sign up for the October 13 PSAT! 10th and 11th grade students are now able to sign up for the PSAT. The PSAT is a practice test for the SAT, which is used for admission into college programs If you are in 10th or 11th grade it is highly recommended to sign up for this year’s PSAT. There is no cost to take the PSAT this year. Space is limited, so sign up in the counseling office today! The test will be on Tuesday October 13th at 8:30am in the KHS gym. See your counselor with questions.

The Drama Club will be meeting at lunch this Wednesday, the 15th, in Mrs. Haig’s room(A326). Anyone is welcome to come and get involved with the reigning state champion Shakesbears. We have a lot of activities planned this year!

ASVAB November 30 The first ASVAB test of the year will be on November 30. This test is used for military branch entrance purposes, and is also used to identify career strengths. The test is free, and open to juniors and seniors. Space is limited. Sign up in the counseling office.

KHS Bears! The Chess Bears Club is operational again! More than that, a couple of our chess seasoned Bears are ready to introduce new learners to the Game! Come learn to play or keep working at getting better. Most importantly, just play. Give it a try, for every pawn is a potential queen. Everybody’s welcome! Meet every Thursday in Miss Daria’s room A127.

Attention all those interested in building up their chess skill! Chess Bears are changing the day they meet in Ms. Daria’s room 127. All chess battles are to take place on Wednesdays now. Special chess refreshments will be served!

The Add/Drop Schedule Change Period ends September 15 As a reminder, students have only the first 10 days of the first semester to add or drop a class. To add or drop a class, students must fill out a digital schedule change request by using the QR codes posted around the building. The deadline to request schedule changes is by the end of the school day on Wednesday, September 15.

Are you a sports fan? It’s time to stop dreaming about playing and start living the dream. Lifetime fitness has hit the ground running with all different types of sports. We will be playing flag football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, and other popular sports activities. You will be able hone your skills, increase your mobility, improve your coordination and become that athlete you’ve always dreamed of being. Spots are filling up fast but there are still some vacancies in 1st and 6th period. Remember: “If you can dream it, you can do it. Your limits are all within yourself.” Sign up today.
