Dear KIBSD Family,
As the new Superintendent of Schools for KIBSD, I wanted to take the time to welcome our families to the 2022-2023 school year! I moved to Kodiak in early July and have been truly impressed by the community. Thank you for the warm welcome you have shown my family!
We are excited to kick off another great year of learning, growing, and celebrating in Kodiak Island Borough School District. As a District, we value the school as an integral part of the community and the community as an integral part of the school. To say that we are eager to start a normal school year this coming school year, is an understatement. We are ready to open our doors to welcome your child into our schools, but also, for the first time since the pandemic began, you, our parents! It is time to get back to the sense of community we cherish with our students, teachers, and parents.
The past two and a half years have been difficult for all of us, both educationally and personally. Our focus this year is to rise above and make an impact. As we move forward, we want to be extra intentional about letting students and parents know we are here for them. We are here to serve, to support, and more than anything, we want our students to soar academically.
As a District, we know that the first and foremost consideration of the educational process is the student and ensuring that they excel in our KIBSD schools. It is important that we champion success, ignite passion, value and encourage every student, and foster positive relationships. We have so many exciting opportunities that we provide our students. Whether it’s athletics, clubs, extra-curriculars, or academics, KIBSD is offering incredible opportunities for each student to develop their full potential as responsible, productive citizens.

Mahal naming mga Pamilya ng KIBSD,
Bilang bagong Superintendente ng mga paaralan ng KIBSD, nais kong iparating sa inyo ang pagtanggap sa ating mga pamilya sa pasukan taon 2022-2023! Lumipat ako sa Kodiak noong mga unang araw ng Hulyo at talagang humanga ako sa komunidad. Salamat sa mainit na pagtanggap na ipinakita ninyo sa aking pamilya!
Sabik kaming simulan ang isa pang magandang taon ng pagkatuto, paglago, at pagdiriwang sa Kodiak Island Borough School District. Bilang distrito, pinahahalagahan namin ang paaralan bilang mahalagang bahagi ng komunidad at ang komunidad bilang mahalagang bahagi ng paaralan. Upang sabihin na kami ay sabik na simulan ang isang normal na taong pasukan na ito sa darating na taong pasukan na maling akala,kami ay handa na upang buksan ang aming mga pinto upang tanggapin ang inyong mga anak sa aming paaralan,ganoon din, sa unang pagkakataon mula ng magsimula ang pandemiko, kayo, aming mga magulang! Panahon na para bumalik sa damdamin ng komunidad na ating pinangangalagaan kasama ng ating mga estudyante, guro at magulang.
Ang nakaraang dalawa’t kalahating taon ay mahirap para sa ating lahat, kapwa sa edukasyon at personal. Ang aming pagtutuunan ng pansin sa taong ito ay umangat at magkaroon ng saysay.Habang kami ay sumusulong nais naming ang tunay na hangarin na ipaarating sa mga estudyante at magulang na narito kami para sa kanila. Narito kami upang maglingkod, suportahan, at higit sa anupaman, nais namin ang ating mga estudyante ay magtagumpay sa akademiko.
Bilang distrito, alam namin ang pangunahin at pinakamahalagang pagsasaalang-alang ng prosesong pang-edukasyon ay ang estudyante at tinitiyak na sila ay mahusay sa ating mga paaralan ng KIBSD.Mahalagang pahalagahan ang tagumpay,paigtingin ang ninanais,pinahahalagahan at hinihikayat ang bawat estudyante,at pagyamanin ang magandang relasyon.Napakaraming kapana-panabik na oportunidad na ibinibigay naming sa aming mga estudyante. Kung ito man ay athletics, clubs,extra-curriculars, o akademiko. Ang KIBSD ay nag-aalok ng pambihirang mga pagkakataon para sa bawat mag-aaral upang bumuo ng kanilang buong potensyal bilang responsible, produktibong mamamayan.

Estimadas familias de KIBSD,
Como su nuevo Superintendente de Escuelas de KIBSD, ¡quería tomarme el tiempo para darles la bienvenida a nuestras familias al año escolar 2022-2023! Me mudé a Kodiak a principios de Julio y me ha impresionado mucho la comunidad. ¡Gracias por la cálida bienvenida que han dado a mi familia!
Estamos emocionados de comenzar otro gran año de aprendizaje, crecimiento y celebración en el Distrito Escolar del Condado de la Isla de Kodiak. Como Distrito, valoramos la escuela como una parte integral de la comunidad y a la misma vez, la comunidad como una parte integral de la escuela. Decir que estamos ansiosos por comenzar un año escolar normal este próximo año escolar, no sería lo suficiente. Estamos listos para abrir nuestras puertas para darles la bienvenida a sus hijos a nuestras escuelas, pero también, por primera vez desde que comenzó la pandemia, ¡ustedes, nuestros padres! Es hora de volver al sentido de comunidad que apreciamos con nuestros estudiantes, maestros y padres.
Los últimos dos años y medio han sido difíciles para todos nosotros, tanto en cuanto a la educación como personalmente. Nuestro enfoque este año es superarlo todo y tener un impacto positivo. A medida que avanzamos, queremos ser más intencionales al dejar que los estudiantes y los padres sepan que estamos aquí para ellos. Estamos aquí para servirles, para apoyarlos, y más que eso, queremos que nuestros estudiantes mejoren académicamente.
Como Distrito, sabemos que la primera y principal consideración del proceso educativo es cada estudiante y asegurarnos de que sobresalgan en nuestras escuelas KIBSD. Es importante promover el éxito y la pasión en la escuela, que valoremos y aminemos a cada estudiante, y fomentar relaciones positivas. Tenemos tantas oportunidades emocionantes para nuestros estudiantes. Ya sea atletismo, clubes, extracurriculares o académicos, KIBSD ofrece oportunidades increíbles para que cada estudiante desarrolle todo su potencial como ciudadanos responsables y productivos.
