COVID-19 Case Update
The Kodiak Emergency Operations Center has received new COVID-19 case information for the Kodiak Island Borough.
Seventy (70) new cases have been reported for the Kodiak Island Borough since the last announcement on January 26, 2022:
- Twenty-seven (27) cases were tested on 1/24/22
- Two (2) of these cases are non-residents
- Nine (9) cases were tested on 1/25/22
- Eighteen (18) cases were tested on 1/26/22
- One (1) of these cases is a non-resident
- Sixteen (16) cases were tested on 1/27/22
Unless otherwise specified, cases are classified as community spread.
The total case count associated with the Kodiak Island Borough is now four thousand four hundred and sixty-six (4466) with four hundred and fifteen (415) cases currently classified as active. There have been one hundred and fourteen (114) local hospitalizations associated with COVID-19, and there are two active cases currently hospitalized in Kodiak.
Sadly, we have been informed that another Kodiak resident has passed away due to complications of COVID-19. Our condolences go out to the family and friends of this person. This brings the total to eleven (11) deaths associated with COVID-19 that have been reported for the Kodiak Island Borough.
COVID-19 is a highly contagious virus. Please take appropriate precautions to keep yourself healthy and to prevent further spread of the virus in our community.
