Weekly COVID-19 Case Update

The Kodiak Emergency Operations Center has received new COVID-19 case information for the Kodiak Island Borough.

One hundred and fifty-seven (157) new cases have been reported for the Kodiak Island Borough since the last announcement on January 19, 2022:

  • Three (3) cases were tested on 1/10/22
  • Four (4) cases were tested on 1/12/22
  • Eleven (11) cases were tested on 1/13/22
  • Three (3) cases were tested on 1/14/22
  • One (1) case was tested on 1/15/22
  • Two (2) cases were tested on 1/16/22
  • Fifteen (15) cases were tested on 1/17/22
  • Fourteen (14) cases were tested on 1/18/22
  • Seventy-four (74) cases were tested on 1/19/22
    • Three (3) of these cases are non-residents
    • Two (2) of these cases are travel-related
  • Thirty (30) cases were tested on 1/20/22
    • Two (2) of these cases are non-residents
    • Two (2) of these cases are travel-related

Unless otherwise specified, cases are classified as community spread.

The total case count associated with the Kodiak Island Borough is now four thousand two hundred and thirty (4230) with six hundred and twenty-eight (628) cases currently classified as active. There have been one hundred and ten (110) local hospitalizations associated with COVID-19, and there are two active cases currently hospitalized in Kodiak. Nine (9) deaths associated with COVID-19 have been officially reported for the Kodiak Island Borough.
