Weekly COVID-19 Case Update

The Kodiak Emergency Operations Center has received new COVID-19 case information for the Kodiak Island Borough.

Two hundred and fifty-five (255) new cases have been reported for the Kodiak Island Borough since the last announcement on January 14, 2022:

  • One (1) case was tested on 1/5/22
  • One (1) case was tested on 1/8/22
  • Six (6) cases were tested on 1/10/22
  • Eleven (11) cases were tested on 1/11/22
    • Three (3) of these cases are close contacts of other positive cases
  • Nineteen (19) cases were tested on 1/12/22
    • Eleven (11) of these cases are close contacts of other positive cases
  • Twenty-two (22) cases were tested on 1/13/22
    • Nine (9) of these cases are close contacts of other positive cases
  • Seventy-seven (77) cases were tested on 1/14/22
    • One (1) of these cases is a close contact of another positive case
    • Three (3) of these cases are non-residents
  • Two (2) cases were tested on 1/16/22
  • Thirty-six (36) cases were tested on 1/15/22
    • Three (3) of these cases are non-residents
  • Eighteen (18) cases were tested on 1/17/22
  • Sixty-two (62) cases were tested on 1/18/22
    • One (1) case is travel-related

Unless otherwise specified, cases are classified as community spread.

The total case count associated with the Kodiak Island Borough is now four thousand and seventy-three (4073) with five hundred and (571) cases currently classified as active. There have been one hundred and nine (109) local hospitalizations associated with COVID-19, and there are two active cases currently hospitalized in Kodiak. Nine (9) deaths associated with COVID-19 have been officially reported for the Kodiak Island Borough.
