Weekly COVID-19 Case Update

The Kodiak Emergency Operations Center has received new COVID-19 case information for the Kodiak Island Borough.

Two hundred and thirty-five (235) new cases have been reported for the Kodiak Island Borough since the last announcement on January 7, 2022:

  • Two (2) cases were tested on 1/5/22
  • Forty-one (41) cases were tested on 1/6/22
  • Ninety-eight (98) cases were tested on 1/7/22
    • One of these cases is a non-resident
  • Ninety (90) cases were tested on 1/8/22
    • Four (4) of these cases are travel related
    • Two (2) of these cases are non-residents
  • One (1) case was tested on 1/9/22
    • Residency was not listed for this case
  • Three (3) cases were tested on 1/10/22
    • Residency was not listed for two (2) of these cases

Unless otherwise specified, cases are classified as community spread.

The total case count associated with the Kodiak Island Borough is now three thousand, four hundred and forty (3440) with five hundred and forty-four (544) cases currently classified as active. There have been one hundred and four (104) local hospitalizations associated with COVID-19, and there is one active case currently hospitalized in Kodiak. Nine (9) deaths associated with COVID-19 have been officially reported for the Kodiak Island Borough.
