Weekly COVID-19 Case Update
The Kodiak Emergency Operations Center has received new COVID-19 case information for the Kodiak Island Borough.
Two hundred and twenty-seven (227) new cases have been reported for the Kodiak Island Borough:
- One (1) case was tested on 12/22/21
- Transmission and residency are not specified for this case
- Five (5) cases were tested on 12/27/21
- Transmission is not specified for all five cases, and residency is not specified for three cases
- Three (3) cases were tested on 12/28/21
- Transmission and residency are not specified for one case
- Twelve (12) cases were tested on 12/29/21
- Transmission and residency are not specified for two cases
- Eighteen (18) cases were tested on 12/30/21
- Transmission and residency are not specified for two cases
- Six (6) cases were tested on 12/31/21
- Transmission and residency are not specified for this case
- One (1) case was tested on 1/1/22
- Transmission and residency are not specified for this case
- Five (5) cases were tested on 1/2/22
- Seventy-six (76) cases were tested on 1/3/22
- Transmission and residency are not specified for one case
- Ninety-nine (99) cases were tested on 1/4/22
- One (1) case was tested on 1/5/22
- Transmission and residency are not specified for this case Unless otherwise specified, cases are classified as community spread.
The total case count associated with the Kodiak Island Borough is now three thousand, eighty- four (3084) with two hundred and fifty-six (256) cases currently classified as active. There have been one hundred and three (103) local hospitalizations associated with COVID-19, and there is one (1) active case currently hospitalized in Kodiak. Nine (9) deaths associated with COVID-19 have been officially reported for the Kodiak Island Borough.
Please also note that there are currently cases of the Flu and RSV in our community; and Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center is moving to ORANGE status which means that vistors may be restricted and cases may be reviewed prior to surgery.
