KODIAK, ALASKA, FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 15, 2021
The Kodiak Emergency Operations Center has received new COVID-19 case information for the Kodiak Island Borough.
One (1) new case has been reported for the Kodiak Island Borough.
- One (1) case was tested on 10/14/21
All COVID-19 cases in our community are currently classified as community spread.
The total case count associated with the Kodiak Island Borough is now two thousand, four hundred and twenty-seven (2427) with one hundred and forty-five (145) cases currently classified as active. There have been eighty-seven (87) local hospitalizations associated with COVID-19 and there are no active cases currently hospitalized in Kodiak.
Sadly, another COVID-19 related death has been reported in Kodiak, this brings the total to eight (8) deaths associated with COVID-19 for the Kodiak Island Borough. Our condolences go out to the family and friends of the newly departed member of our community.
There will be no announcement on Monday, October 18th as the Kodiak Public Health Office is scheduled to be closed for the day.
COVID-19 IS A HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS VIRUS THAT SPREADS EASILY FROM PERSON TO PERSON.
A MASK MANDATE is in effect for public indoor activities.
IF YOU FEEL ILL, even if symptoms are mild, stay away from other people until you can be tested for COVID-19.
Contact a local medical clinic to be tested for COVID-19.
Maintain social distance when around others not in your household.
Contact your health care provider or pharmacy if you wish to be VACCINATED.
