The Kodiak Emergency Operations Center has received new COVID-19 case information for the Kodiak Island Borough.
Seventeen (17) new cases have been reported for the Kodiak Island Borough.
- One (1) case was tested on 8/27/21
- This case tested off-island and transmission means is unknown
- One (1) case was tested on 8/30/21
- The transmission means for this case is unknown
- Nine (9) cases were tested on 9/3/21
- Two (2) cases are travel-related; one individual is a non-resident
- Four (4) cases are close contacts of previously reported cases
- Three (3) cases are considered community transmission
- Six (6) cases were tested on 9/4/21
- Three (3) cases are close contacts of previously reported cases
- Three (3) cases are considered community transmission
The total case count associated with the Kodiak Island Borough is now one thousand, six hundred and fifty-two (1652) with fifty-eight (58) cases currently classified as active. There have been sixty-nine (69) local hospitalizations associated with COVID-19 and there are no active cases currently hospitalized in Kodiak. A MASK MANDATE is in effect for public indoor activities. STAY HOME IF YOU FEEL ILL, even if symptoms are mild. Contact a local medical clinic to be tested for COVID-19.
