The Kodiak Emergency Operations Center has received new COVID-19 case information for the Kodiak Island Borough.
Twenty-seven (27) new cases have been reported for the Kodiak Island Borough.
- One (1) case was tested on 7/27/21
- This case is considered community transmission
- Two (2) cases were tested on 7/29/21
- Both cases are considered community transmission
- Ten (10) cases were tested on 7/30/21
- Two (2) cases are close contracts of previously reported cases
- All three (3) cases are considered community transmission; one individual is a non-resident
- Five (5) cases have unknown transmission until contact tracing is complete
- Eleven (11) cases were tested on 7/31/21
- Two (2) cases are travel-related
- Three (3) cases are close contacts of previously reported cases
- One (1) case is considered community transmission
- Five (5) cases have unknown transmission until contact tracing is complete
- Three (3) cases were tested on 8/2/21
- Two (2) cases are close contacts of previously reported cases
- One (1) case is considered community transmission
This brings the current case count associated with the Kodiak Island Borough to one thousand, two hundred and forty-seven (1247); sixty-three (63) cases are classified as active locally.
To date, there have been a total of fifty-two (52) local hospitalizations and five (5) deaths associated with COVID-19. There are two active cases currently hospitalized in Kodiak.
- If you are sick or believe you have may have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus, stay home and away from others.
- Contact your health care provider or local pharmacy if you wish to be vaccinated.
- Wearing a mask in public is known to prevent spread of the virus.
