Courses available at Kodiak High School

    Applied Engineering/Problem Solving

    Grade Level(s): 9-12; Year-long
Prerequisite(s): Admission subject to teacher/program approval.
Students will engage in project-based learning in real-world situations, i.e. invasive species. Students will gain an understanding of problem-solving processes as used in the real world.

    Robotic Engineering I

    Grade Level(s): 9-12; Year-long
    Prerequisite(s): Algebra 1 recommended
students will learn to be a team player as they plan, design, fabricate, troubleshoot and program with a robot, which they build from scratch. Student teams build robots which can be controlled by humans, but also have the capability of being autonomously controlled, using only sensor input to monitor surroundings and make decisions based on their programming.

    Robotic Engineering II

    Grade Level(s): 10-12; Year-long
Prerequisite(s): Successful completion with a C or better in Robotics I
students will engage in hands-on brainstorming, designing, graphic and verbal communication, fabrication, computer programming and competition of high-tech robots. Students will specialize in certain areas, and contribute to the engineering design process in their area of expertise. Teams may compete in different levels of organizations as they design and compete with robots.
