Kodiak I Can Project
The Kodiak I Can Project is a grant-funded project. The objectives of this project are to establish concrete preparation pathways for Alaska Native and non-Native students by the 8th grade. These pathways will help prepare students to be successful in higher education or entry into a trade and career.
Students will have devoted class time learning about and preparing for college and careers and will have activities such as summer intensives, college visits/tours, job shadowing, and internships. Students will be assessed in their readiness for college and career. Partnering with the District on this grant are the Native Village of Afognak, the Sun'aq Tribe of Kodiak, and the Koniag Education Foundation.
This grant will also help establish new CTE offerings, including Industrial Arts and a health care program.
