Kodiak Island Borough School District

The School Board Student Leadership Program was established in September 2008 with the vision of developing future leadership from within.  It is our goal to instill a sense of civic leadership and to help students better understand and enjoy their civics instruction.  Participation in the School Board Leadership Program gives our younger students the opportunity to experience governance first-hand, and hopefully, inspire them to stay involved throughout their lives.  The program targets third grade through sixth grade students to serve as Pages at School Board meetings, and seventh and eighth grade students to serve Sergeant At Arms provided by Kodiak Middle School.
