Alaska Regulations require that the School Board provide for the systematic evaluation of its curriculum on an ongoing basis with each content area undergoing review at least once every six years.

The Kodiak Island Borough School District's review cycle, approved by the School Board on September 24, 2012, is:

2012/2013           Arts and Language Arts
2013/2014           Mathematics
2014/2015           Social Studies and World Languages
2015/2016           Health, Physical Education, Education Technology & Telecommunications Plan
2016/2017           Science and Career Technology

Also, the addition of program review to this cycle was suggested.  Although these reviews are not required by Alaska Regulations, the regular review of programs will support student achievement across the district.
